P1M worth shabu, gun seized in Quezon buy-bust
LUCENA CITY––Police arrested two armed drug suspects who yielded over P1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation Wednesday in Lucban town in Quezon province
Calabarzon police said, in a report, that Carlos Daniel Lapuz, 30, and Jose Barrientos, 21, were collared after selling P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Tinamnan at 12:35 a.m.
Seized were eight plastic sachets of shabu weighing 50.22 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P341,496 but is worth P1,024,428 in the street market, according to the report.
During the search, authorities also seized a caliber .9mm improvised pistol loaded with 10 bullets.
The police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
The suspects were detained at the Lucban police jail. They face charges of illegal possession of a firearm and illegal drugs.
