MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has approved the request of Lt. Gen. Allen Paredes, chief of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), to include in the 2022 budget the purchase of three brand new C-130 cargo planes.

Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and some House leaders, met with Paredes on Monday to discuss the funding for the acquisition of new cargo planes for PAF as the House conducts its plenary deliberations on the proposed P5.024-trillion national budget for 2022.

“I can only give my word that we in the House of Representatives will include in the 2022 budget the modernization of the PAF’s fleet and ensure the proper training of personnel,” Velasco said.
