It’s a rainy Monday in Metro Manila, Southern Luzon
MANILA, Philippines — Rainy weather will prevail in Metro Manila and in provinces in southern Luzon on Monday, but weather conditions are expected to gradually improve in these areas afterward, the weather service said.
A low pressure area (LPA) embedded in the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered showers at the start of this week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
As of 3 p.m. on Sunday, the LPA was estimated at 45 kilometers north of Romblon, Romblon province, covering large swathes of Luzon in thick clouds.
Residents in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, southern Luzon, Bicol region, Western Visayas and the provinces of La Union, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet and Ifugao should prepare for possible flash floods and landslides due to the rain, the weather service said.
Pagasa senior weather specialist Chris Perez said generally fairer weather conditions were expected across the country starting Tuesday. INQ
