MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives have collared five persons in an alleged “shabu” session in Quezon City and confiscated P102,000 worth of crystal meth.
The Quezon City Police District identified the suspects as Mario Paz, 20 years old; Antonio Lucon, 45 years old; Michael Hernandez, 27 years old — all residents of Barangay UP Campus; and Jayd Cipiriano, 39 years old, and Jeffrey De Ocampo, 33 years old, residents of Barangay Culiat.
QCPD Station 9 in Anonas said they arrested the five suspects on Monday night after a concerned citizen tipped off authorities of an ongoing drug session in Barangay UP Campus, Quezon City.
The police subsequently devised a plan to catch the suspects. The police also said they seized 15 grams of shabu, one unsealed packet of shabu, and several drug paraphernalia from the scene.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the police added.
Meanwhile, QCPD director PBGen. Antonio Yarra conveyed his appreciation to the tipster.
“Nagpapasalamat kami sa concerned citizen na walang takot na nagsumbong sa awtoridad dahilan para mahuli ang mga suspek na ito,” he said.
(We thank the concerned citizen who fearlessly reported to the authorities the reason for arresting these suspects.)
