MANILA, Philippines — Senator Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday said  he has not spoken yet with Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso for a possible tandem in the 2022 elections.

“Wala pa kaming pag-uusap. Hindi naman kami nag-uusap pa (We have not spoken yet),” Pacquiao said in an online media forum.

“Wala akong balita dyan… Sa ngayon wala pa akong balita about sa ganyang issue (I don’t have any information about that. Right now, I don’t have any update on that issue),” he added.

On Monday, Vice President Leni Robredo said she is open to supporting the tandem of Pacquiao and Moreno in the 2022 elections if that is what it will take to defeat the current regime’s ticket.

Pacquiao, however, refused to confirm a possible coalition withMoreno.

He earlier thanked Robredo for expressing willingness to support him.

“Hindi natin alam. Mahirap magsalita ngayon pero ako naman, katulad ng sinabi ko, tatlo ang pinagpipilian ko na maging desisyon: either tumakbo ng pangulo, tumakbo ng senador, o magretiro na lang sa pulitika,” he said.

(We do not know yet. It’s hard to confirm anything now. But like what I said, I am considering three options for 2022: to run for president, run for senator, or retire altogether from politics.)
