Land travel to Visayas, Mindanao canceled as ‘Jolina’ hounds Bicol

Almost a thousand inmates in different facilities of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Bicol region have been inoculated against COVID-19, the agency said.

LEGAZPI CITY – Land travel to the Visayas, Mindanao and island provinces of the Bicol region has been suspended since Monday night, September 7, by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Bicol regional office due to the threat of Typhoon “Jolina” (International name: Conson).

In an advisory, the agency said the temporary cancellation of inbound land travel would prevent congestion on Maharlika Highway near the port of Matnog in Sorsogon and all other ports in the region.
