23 villages in Ilocos Sur town placed on extreme ECQ

23 villages in Ilocos Sur town placed on extreme ECQ

BAGUIO CITY—At least 23 villages in the town of Cabugao in Ilocos Sur province were placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) due to the “alarming” surge in COVID-19 cases.

Apart from the town’s 154 active COVID-19 cases, it also registered two cases of the more transmissible Delta variant and a case of Alpha variant, said Mayor Edgardo Cobangbang Jr.

Placed under EECQ from Sept. 5-19 are the villages of Alinaay, Arnap, Baclig, Bonifacio, Bunglo, Cacadiran and Caellayan, Carusipan, Catucdaan, Cuancabal, Cuantacla and Dacrapan,

Also under EECQ are the villages of Dardarat, Margaay, Namruangan, Pug-os, Quezon, Rizal, Sabang Sagayaden, Salapasap, Salomague and Turod.

All residents of these villages are strictly prohibited from leaving their homes except for emergency and medical purposes.

Only healthcare workers, uniformed personnel and essential workers are allowed to report for work under EECQ. INQ
