Over 60,000 residents of Pampanga’s capital fully vaxxed vs COVID-19

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Some 60,773 individuals or 25.1 percent of the 242,102 target population for inoculation in the City of San Fernando have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the city epidemiology and surveillance unit disclosed on Friday, September 3.

Citing its Sept. 2 data, the city government said some 117,998 residents comprising 48.7 percent of the eligible population have also received first doses of the vaccines.

As of the said date, the capital city still had 33,171 for first and second doses of vaccines in its storage freezers.

San Fernando has a total population of 354,666 based on the 2020 census.

The San Fernando City government said the vaccinated individuals include health workers under the A1 priority group, elderly residents under A2, persons with comorbidities under A3, and frontline personnel in essential sectors under the A4 category.

It said the first batch of 545 indigent residents under the A5 priority group also received their first doses of the vaccines on August 26.

The city registered 95 new COVID-19 cases, 49 recoveries, and zero deaths on Friday.

It has recorded a total of 8,506 cases since the pandemic broke out last year. Of these, 6,669 have recovered while 244 have died.
