COVID-19 deaths in Olongapo City rise to 209
OLONGAPO CITY—The city continues to register deaths related to COVID-19 for five consecutive days, local data showed on Wednesday (Sept. 1).
According to the local task force, most of the fatalities were elderly residents who suffered from other existing ailments.
The latest to die were two older men aged 57 and 66. Their deaths raised to 209, the city’s death toll as of Wednesday.
Data also showed that the city’s number of active COVID-19 cases has ballooned to 622, following 24 new cases on the same day.
At least 3,112 of the 3,943 cases recorded since last year have already been cleared of the viral disease. It reflected a 78.9-percent recovery rate.
