Active COVID cases in Bohol surge to 1,970
TAGBILARAN CITY — The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Bohol rose to 1,970 as the province logged 229 additional infections on Thursday, Sept. 2.
Based on the COVID-19 tracker of the provincial government of Bohol, the new cases came from different parts of the province, with Tagbilaran City having the highest infection with 62 cases, followed by Carmen town with 24 cases, Ubay town with 19 cases, San Miguel with 14 cases and Panglao with 13 cases.
Six additional deaths were also recorded, bringing the number of fatalities in the province to 286.
At least four new cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 were recorded in Bohol, the Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (RESU) in Central Visayas reported.
Authorities have urged residents to follow health protocols and get vaccinated.
