MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio  said she was neither angry at her father, President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go, nor was she envious of their power.

She made the clarification to belie the claim of an article she said was being passed around in group chats and social media posts.

“I am not angry at President Duterte or Senator Bong Go, nor am I envious of the power that they hold. The responsibility that comes with power is exhausting, there is nothing to be jealous about it,” she said in a Facebook post late Wednesday night.

She also said that she did not hold a grudge against Go concerning his relationship with her father.

Duterte-Carpio earlier released a scathing statement against Go and the President when the latter said he and the senator will not run in the 2022 elections if the Davao City mayor runs for president.

She challenged the President and Go to “own up publicly” to their decision to run as a tandem and keep her name out of it.

She likewise revealed that her father wants her to either support the Go-Duterte tandem or have Go as her vice-president should she decide to run, based on two letters she received which was endorsed by the President.

Go had denied having a rift with Duterte-Carpio.
