5 dead in fire at residential area along Osmeña Blvd in Cebu City
CEBU CITY – At least five persons were killed in a fire that gobbled 10 structures along Osmeña Boulevard in Cebu City on Tuesday afternoon, August 31.
FO3 Fulbert Navarro, the fire investigator, said they found the charred bodies of the victims in one area.
“I believed they were trapped inside their house. Maybe, they were confused about what to do since the fire quickly spread,” he said in Cebuano.
Navarro said they have yet to identify the victims which included three minors.
The Cebu City Fire Department received the fire alarm close to 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
After an hour and a half, the fire was under control and was totally put out at 3:41 p.m.
Navarro said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire and where it started.
Damage was pegged at P11 million.
