Fugitive falls in Zambales town after 10 years in hiding

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—A man facing an illegal possession of firearms case was arrested in this town after almost 10 years of hiding, police said on Tuesday (Aug. 31).

Col. Romano Cardiño, police provincial director, identified the suspect as Nestor Cabiles, 54, a resident of Barangay Burgos here.

Cabiles was arrested on Monday (Aug. 30) on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Consuelo Amog Bocar of Regional Trial Court, Branch 71 in Iba town on April 11, 2011.

Police said Cabiles went into hiding after eluding the first attempt to arrest him in 2011.

Cabiles was already detained at the San Antonio municipal police station.
