DFA in Ilocos Norte to resume passport processing for non-residents
LAOAG CITY—The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Ilocos Norte will resume its passport processing for applicants residing outside the province starting Sept. 1, the provincial government announced on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
The DFA suspended the service for non-residents from Aug. 1 to 31 to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the province.
The DFA consular office will accommodate passport applications and other requests only by appointment.
An applicant must obtain a negative result of the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test taken within 60 hours before arrival in the province.
Those who will travel to the province using their vehicles and will be in the province for only one day are required to leave their cars at the provincial borders.
The DFA will make available a shuttle service that will cost P180 for a round trip fare per applicant, according to the provincial government.
