‘Bato’ fills in Lacson’s vice chair post in Senate finance panel
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has been designated as a vice-chairperson of the Senate finance panel, replacing Senator Panfilo Lacson, who recently resigned from the committee post.
During Tuesday’s session, finance committee chairman Senator Sonny Angara informed his colleagues of Dela Rosa’s designation in the panel.
“May I just inform the body of the designation of one of our colleagues as the vice-chairperson of the finance committee since we are about to begin our committee hearings and as you know Sen. Ping Lacson has resigned from this post as vice-chairperson,” Angara said.
“We are lucky because one of the members of the committee expressed willingness to fill admittedly the big shoes left by Sen. Lacson this is no less than…Sen. Bato dela Rosa,” he added.
With Dela Rosa’s news post, he will be heading the finance sub-committee C and will be tasked to defend the proposed 2022 budgets of the following:
- Department of Information and Communications Technology and its attached agencies
- Department of National Defense and its attached agencies
- Commission on Human Rights
- Dangerous Drugs Board
- Mindanao Development Authority
