Sen. Binay says mom tested positive for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Nancy Binay disclosed Wednesday that her mother, Dra. Elenita Binay, has tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms.
Thankfully, she and her father, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, did not catch the coronavirus, the senator said on Wednesday.
“I am currently under quarantine after my mom, Dra. Elenita Binay, tested positive for Covid-19,” Sen. Binay said in a statement.
“We are likewise thankful that test results for my Dad turned negative,” she said. “However, we will still follow recommended protocols and re-swabbing procedures.”
“Although my mom is experiencing mild symptoms, my family and I are asking for your continued prayers for her full recovery–and as always, prayer is our first line of defense,” the senator added.
Senator Binay then urged the public to immediately get vaccinated against Covid-19 once made available in their areas.
