OLONGAPO CITY—One of the largest villages here has intensified its health protocols as the city continues to experience a surge in COVID-19 cases.
In a statement on Monday (Aug. 16), Barretto village chief Angelito Baloy said some of their major entry points had been closed as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19.
Barangay Barretto currently has 20 out of the over 300 active infections in the city, Baloy said.
Also, part of the stricter protocol is the ban on the entry of non-residents and designating pickup or drop-off points for delivery riders, he said.
He said holding a wake in the village should be done in three days instead of the previous five days and only a small number of people would be allowed to attend it.
