146 new COVID-19 cases logged in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––New COVID-19 cases were listed in the province over the weekend, bringing the total number of sick patients to 546.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said on Monday, Aug. 16, that 37 new infections were listed on Saturday and 109 on Sunday.

Among the latest cases are workers in Olongapo City and the Subic Bay Freeport.

Many of the other new cases are elderly patients with existing comorbidities, while some are unemployed individuals who had no travel history outside the province.

Bueno also reported that 60 virus-infected patients recovered from the viral disease during the same period, pushing the total number of recoveries to 4,249.

The province has recorded 4,853 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic broke out last year, while its death toll stood at 139.
