The said parking lot was recently converted into a makeshift reception area for patients suspected to be with COVID-19 infection, as the hospital has reached full capacity for COVID-19 patients.

The man’s death came the same day as the Malacañang announced that the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) extended the enforcement of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the province of Laguna until August 20 and not just August 15.

The strictest quarantine measure was supposed to end on August 15 in Laguna, as well as in Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro, and then de-escalated to a modified ECQ (MECQ).
