Teacher killed after allegedly fighting off robber

MANILA, Philippines—A teacher was stabbed dead in Laguna early Friday after allegedly fighting off a robber, police said.

Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that 37-year-old Antonina Labing, a public school teacher, was found dead with stab wounds in different parts of her body in a grassy area beside the Provincial Road of Barangay (village) Nanhaya, Victoria, Laguna around 6:40 a.m.

The victim is a resident of Purok 6, SL Rebong Street in Barangay (village) San Roque, Victoria, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Director Gilbert Cruz said that Labing may have been killed after fighting off the robber.

Cruz Jr. said that further investigation is underway to identify the suspect.
