2 dead in separate road accidents in Laguna

LUCENA CITY – A pedestrian and a motorcycle rider died on Monday, Jan. 6, in separate road accidents in San Pablo City, Laguna, police said Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The Region 4A police said in a report that Ruel Endozo, 57, was accidentally bumped at 6:50 p.m. by a truck driven by one “John Loui” while he was about to cross the Maharlika Highway in Barangay (village) San Ignacio.

The pedestrian suffered injuries and was taken to San Pablo District Hospital but he died on the way.

The driver was placed under police custody and will face the criminal charges.

In Barangay Santa Isabel at around 6:40 p.m., two motorcycles ridden by Carl Francis Dichoso, 20 and Warren Catipun, 51, collided.

Both riders sustained injuries and were taken to San Pablo Medical Center but Dichoso died during treatment.

Investigators found out that Catipun suddenly made a left turn that resulted in a collision with the oncoming motorcycle.
