MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Thursday took a swipe at the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) show-cause order hurled against him for getting a failed mark in Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) performance as a mayor “in 2018,” when his mayoralty only began in 2019.

“Wow galing ha! Sunod sunod na! #AlamNaThis,” Domagoso quipped in a brief statement, expressing sarcasm on the deluge of what appeared to be an attack on his leadership.

(Wow this is great! They’re coming one after another!)

The local chief executive was a subject of a DILG show cause order dated July 9 signed by DILG Undersecretary for External and Legislative Affairs Ricojudge Javier Echiverri.

“Based on our assessment and verification in the 2018 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) performance audit, you have failed to comply with the policy and program mandated to your office, specifically in meeting the standards and complying with the measures set forth by the National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Audit as provided by the DILG-DDB Joint Memorandum Circular 2018001,” the show cause order, signed by Echiverri, read.

Moreno had 10 days to respond to the show-cause order.

The said circular was dated May 21, 2018, the same month when President Rodrigo Duterte appointed him as undersecretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Domagoso, however, only became a mayor of Manila when he ran and won against former President Joseph Estrada in 2019.

To this, Domagoso also only responded: “Hehehehehehe.”
