Isko Moreno: No vaccination in Manila on Friday due to lack of vaccine supply

MANILA, Philippines — The city of Manila announced that there will be no vaccination against COVID-19 on Friday, the day the lockdown in Metro Manila starts, due to lack of vaccine supply.
“Walang bakunahan bukas dahil wala tayong bakuna na available for first dose. May darating tayo ngayon pero ‘yun ay pang-second dose pa rin,” said Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso in a live briefing on Thursday.
(There will be no vaccination tomorrow because we do not have vaccines available for the first dose. We have supplies coming up but only for the second dose.)
Only special vaccination sites will be open tomorrow (Friday) and will be exclusive for those who will be receiving their second dose of vaccination.
Home vaccinations, however, will still push through on Friday where 50 bedridden Manileños will receive their first jab of vaccination.
Another 43 people will receive their second dose starting tomorrow.
Meanwhile in a separate interview, Manila Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna said that vaccine supply may only arrive tomorrow.
“Wala pa rin pong dumarating sa ngayon, waiting pa rin po kami. Ang sabi po nila malamang bukas na darating, pang-sabado na po ‘yun,” said Lacuna in an interview over DZRH news.
(We are still waiting for supply, which they said will probably come tomorrow. Those supplies will then be used for Saturday.)
Metro Manila will be under enhanced community quarantine from August 6 to August 20 amid the rising cases of the COVID-19 Delta variant.
Inoculation efforts will still continue throughout this period.
