Tropical Depression Gorio now outside PAR
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Gorio has slightly intensified but has now moved out of the Philippine area of responsibility, according to state weather agency Pagasa.
At 4 p.m., Gorio was monitored at 800 kilometers northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon. Maximum sustained winds are up to 55 kilometers per hour near the center, with gustiness up to 70 kilometers per hour (kph).
Gorio is moving northeastward at 15 kph.
As of 4 p.m., Pagasa’s 24-hour weather forecast expects a southwest monsoon to hit most parts of the country.
The weather system will bring monsoon rain showers over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, and Bataan.
Article continues after this advertisementCloudy skies will be accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in parts of Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Pagasa is also observing an active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, located 655 kilometers west of Extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 p.m.
