Suspected thief dies after falling from hotel's window in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY — A man has died shortly after allegedly stealing from a hotel guest in this city at dawn on Friday, July 30, police said.

The unnamed suspect fell from the sixth floor of the hotel along Kisad Road around 5 a.m., according to investigators.

Emergency responders said the suspected thief was already dead when they arrived.

The hotel guest told police that he was awakened by a noise and saw the suspect hurriedly leaving the room through the window before losing his balance.

Police said the suspect was still holding the bag he took from the guest’s room when the investigators arrived at the scene.

The bag contained cash, mobile phones, and other valuable items, which were returned to the owner.

Police said the suspect’s body was brought to the Baguio Memorial Chapel.
