City of Manila to open third dialysis center
The Manila City government is set to open its third dialysis center at the Sta. Ana Hospital.
In anticipation of its opening, Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso on Tuesday, July 27, inspected the new Sta. Ana Hospital Dialysis Center.
“Ito ay pagpapatuloy sa plano ng Pamahalaang Lungsod na i-modernize ang ating mga district hospitals para mabigyan ng libreng specialized medical treatment ang lahat,” the mayor stated. “Gusto nating maging accessible sa taong bayan ang pagpapa-dialysis. Hindi komo kapos sila ay wala na silang pag-asang magpa-dialysis.”
The new Sta. Ana Hospital Dialysis Center boasts of 11 seats with six Fresenius hemodialysis machines; high-end HD machines; two machines with portable reverse osmosis; a HEPA filter and portable reverse osmosis; 11 TV sets with wireless Bluetooth headsets; an ECG Machine; a defibrillator; and suction machines. It also has a negative pressure room for COVID-19 patients.
The dialysis center shall operate from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be reserved for those in need of emergency dialysis. The nurses stationed in this unit will work in two shifts.
Article continues after this advertisementInitially, the Sta. Ana Hospital Dialysis Center will serve 26 patients per month, with each patient under a thrice-a-week dialysis regimen. Once it is fully maximized with all 11 dialysis machines operational, then around 66 patients a month can be accommodated.
Domagoso remarked: “Ito po ay dagdag na alay natin para mga Manileño. Ayan na po. Kung kailangan ninyong magpa-dialysis, you have an additional facility that will help you in the City of Manila.”
