31 new COVID-19 cases logged in Olongapo City

OLONGAPO CITY—Thirty-one new COVID-19 cases were added Wednesday to the city’s data that led to a sudden surge in infections in one day, local data showed.

Most of the new patients are below 60 years old, with two senior citizens getting infected, based on the latest tally of the local task force.

The youngest to test positive for COVID-19 is a 10-year-old boy from Barangay Old Cabalan.

The new patients pushed the city’s active cases to 176 out of the 2,909 infections recorded since last year.

FEATURED STORIES

At least 2,570 of these patients had been cleared of the viral disease, reflecting an 88-percent recovery rate.

The city’s COVID-19 death toll still stood at 163 on Wednesday.
