14 percent of Central Luzon police now fully vaxed vs COVID-19
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Some 1,751 or about 14 percent of the 12,521 officials and personnel of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) in Central Luzon are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the PRO3 Health Service disclosed on Friday, July 23.
The Central Luzon police said 141 of the 2,126 officials and personnel or 6.6 percent of support units in the region have also received full doses of the vaccines.
The PRO3 health service said 598 police officers were vaccinated by the regional medical and dental unit while 4,761 were inoculated by local government units where they are detailed.
Police officers are considered frontline personnel in essential sectors under the A4 priority group.
A total of 5,359 personnel of PRO3 and support units have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The police officers received doses of the Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, and Sputnik V vaccines.
Article continues after this advertisementA total of 1,897 Central Luzon police officers contracted COVID-19 since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 1,803 have recovered while five have died. Eighty-nine cases remain active as of July 23.
