82-year-old grandma finishes high school in Zambales

SAN MARCELINO, Zambales—An 82-year-old grandmother in this town completed her secondary education, the town’s public information office said Tuesday, July 21.
Maria Estanislao was part of the Alternative Learning School (ALS) and was among the graduates of a recent virtual ceremony.
Estanislao was also a “Natatanging Karangalan” awardee in the program.
ALS is a parallel learning system that the Department of Education offers to those who could not have a formal education due to various reasons, like economic, geographic, political, cultural, and social barriers.
