P1.7M worth shabu seized in Legazpi City bust
LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives collared on Tuesday a high-value target (HVT) illegal drug pusher who was carrying a P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a drug sting in a coastal village here, a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
Arrested was Ronan Alagaban, an alleged drug pusher operating in this city, according to Cotton Talento, PDEA Bicol spokesperson.
The suspect did not resist arrest. Agents seized from him a plastic bag containing 250 grams of shabu during the drug bust in Barangay (village) Bigaa at around 4:40 p.m.
Noe Briguel, PDEA Albay chief, said the suspect was a former jail inmate at the Legazpi City Jail facility who was held for illegal drug peddling in 2019 and was released recently due to a plea bargain procedure and for “good behavior.”
The suspect is now detained in the PDEA regional custodial facility.
