Typhoon Fabian enhances monsoon; expect rain in NCR, Luzon – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — As Typhoon Fabian coasts along extreme Northern Luzon, enhancing the southwest monsoon or habagat, rain showers will be highly likely over the Luzon region, including Metro Manila, from Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) added that aside from Fabian, another typhoon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) with the international name Cempaka, which is located some 985 kilometers west of extreme Northern Luzon, is intensifying the southwest monsoon.
“Dahil sa mga bagyong ito, asahan pa rin na makakaimpluwensiya ito sa habagat, na siya namang maghahatid ng mga pagulan, generally sa buong Luzon, [lalo na] sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon,” said Pagasa weather specialist Joey Figuracion.
(Because of these typhoons, expect that it will continue to influence the southwest monsoon, which in turn will bring rains, generally throughout Luzon, especially in the western part of Luzon.)
Pagasa likewise said the southwest monsoon will make scattered rain showers persist over Western Visayas as it causes isolated thunderstorms in the area.

(That means it is dangerous for our countrymen, especially those who use small marine vessels.)
