MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government has set up a “relaxing” COVID-19 vaccination hub solely for the city’s seniors.
The vaccination site located at the newly-built Taguig Trade Center offers comfortable seats like sofas, “cozy” chairs with tables, and other “senior-friendly” amenities,” according to a social media post on Thursday from the city’s information office.
The initiative aims to encourage the city’s elderly to get their COVID-19 vaccine jabs as they are more vulnerable to the coronavirus.
According to the Taguig City government, senior residents will have to book an appointment at trace.taguig.gov.ph or in barangay halls’ kiosks to be vaccinated at the site.
The city government earlier deployed doctors and nurses to inoculate bedridden residents in Taguig, mostly senior citizens, under its Home Service Vaccination Program.
As of July 14, a total of 47,677 Taguig City senior citizens have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Faith Yuen Wei Ragasa, Inquirer trainee
