Raps readied vs cops with fake swab test results
MANILA, Philippines — Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police, has ordered the filing of administrative and criminal charges against police officers from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao who presented fake swab test results when they attempted to enter Zamboanga City.
“We have zero tolerance for this kind of shameful and unscrupulous act. We shall not let them go unpunished,” Eleazar said on Saturday.
At least eight policemen from Isabela City and Lamitan in Basilan presented fake negative results of reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction tests as they tried to enter Zamboanga City on July 5. They were intercepted by local health officials at Zamboanga port.
