Cop dies in vehicular mishap in Romblon town
CITY OF CALAPAN—A police officer died in a vehicular accident Tuesday night in San Andres town in Romblon province, according to a report from Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) police office.
Staff Sergeant Lopito Marcelino, 52, assigned at San Andres police station, was on his way home on foot when bumped by a tricycle driven by Erminio Rocero, 38, in Barangay Agpudlos, at 10:35 p.m.
Marcelino, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, fell on the concrete road unconscious and was later taken to San Andres Municipal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect is now under police custody for proper disposition, said the report.
