MANILA, Philippines — The delivery of 170,000 doses of Russian-made Sputnik V scheduled this Wednesday will be delayed due to issues on logistics, the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) said.

“The arrival of 170,000 doses of Sputnik V (Gamaleya) has been rescheduled to a later date,” the NTF said in a message to reporters.

The NTF cited “logistics” as the reason behind the delay, adding the Department of Health will soon give an update on the new arrival date of the jabs.

The Philippines has so far received 180,000 doses of government-procured Sputnik V.

Sputnik V, developed by the Gamaleya Institute of Russia, is administered in two doses three weeks apart.

But the country’s Food and Drug Administration has allowed a wider interval of up to 42 days between the Sputnik V doses.
