CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — Police, and anti-drug agents seized P1.2-million worth of marijuana bricks, a gun, and five bullets from four people, including a minor, who were arrested in Quezon town in Isabela province on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Andree Michelle Camhol-Abella, Cagayan Valley regional police spokesperson, identified the arrested men as Jerwin Lipalam, 24, resident of Tondo, Manila; car driver Jayson Pallares, 23, from Caloocan City; back-up driver Alvin Guiyab, 20, of San Mariano, Isabela; and a 17-year-old boy with his live-in partner from Tondo in Manila.
They were arrested in Barangay (village) Alunan at 2:10 p.m.
Isabela police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) personnel were tipped off that a Vios car sped off and evaded a Rizal, Kalinga Quarantine Control checkpoint in Romualdez, Rizal, Kalinga.
When the car reached the Isabela-Kalinga boundary checkpoint in Abut, Quezon town in Isabela, the car also sped off.
Police pursued the car and collared the men in Alunan village.
When the car was inspected, police and PDEA agents found and seized 10 dried marijuana bricks wrapped in a silicon plastic bag worth P1.2 million, a caliber .38 revolver, and five bullets.
The items were later inventoried while the suspects were checked up at the Quezon Community Hospital and later brought to the Quezon police for further investigation.
