Luzon to have cloudy weather; Visayas, Mindanao to be hot and humid

MANILA, Philippines — The whole of Luzon is expected to have cloudy weather on Monday while the Visayas and most parts of Mindanao will be hot and humid, the state weather service said.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its Sunday afternoon bulletin, added that Palawan will experience rains and cloudy weather on Sunday night while the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro region will have the same weather condition on Monday.

Pagasa said the weather conditions in the said areas are affected by the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

“Ngayong gabi asahan sa Palawan ang kalat-kalat na ulan at maulap na panahon dulot ng Intertropical Convergence Zone,” senior weather specialist Chris Perez said.

“Bukas naman, patuloy na ang generally improved weather dito sa may bandang Palawan area, asahan na sa Luzon ay may bahangyang maulap at maulap ang kalangitan, kung magkakaroon ng pag-ulan ay possibleng dulot ng localized thunderstorm,” Perez added.

(But tomorrow, expect generally improved weather here in the Palawan area, while Luzon would have cloudy weather, with chances of rains due to localized thunderstorms.)

“Samantala, mainit at maalinsangang panahon sa Visayas at sa nakararaming bahagi ng Mindanao maliban na lamang sa bandang Zamboanga Peninsula at Bangsamoro na inaasahan na maulap pa rin bukas at may mga pag-ulan at pagkidlat at pagkulog dulot ng Intertropical Convergence Zone.

In Luzon, Metro Manila is projected to have temperatures ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius; Tagaytay City at 22 to 31 degrees Celsius; Baguio City at 16 to 25 degrees Celsius; Laoag City at 25 to 31 degrees Celsius; Legazpi City at 25 to 32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City at 25 to 34 degrees Celsius; and Puerto Princesa City, with 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

In the Visayas, Cebu is projected to have temperatures ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius; Iloilo, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius; and Tacloban at 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

In Mindanao, Zamboanga City would have 23 to 31 degrees Celsius; Cagayan de Oro, 23 to 33 degrees Celsius; and 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in Davao City.

Meanwhile, no gale warning is raised on any of the country’s waters with only slight to moderate sea conditions, with exception of the western part of the country, which is projected to have a moderate sea condition.
