Solar farm breaks ground in Pampanga
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Ayala Group’s AC Energy and Citicore launched Thursday their 72-megawatt solar farm in a 58-hectare land at the boundary of Arayat and Mexico towns in Pampanga province.
The firms aim to energize around 45,000 homes and create 1,500 jobs, the venture said in a statement.
In a brief program in Barangay San Antonio in Arayat, company officials announced a development cost of about P2.7 billion for the solar farm scheduled for commissioning in the first quarter of 2022.
“Together, we will help augment the much-needed grid capacity during the very tight electricity supply situation as our economy recovers from the effects of the pandemic, “said Eric Francia, AC Energy president and chief executive officer, in a joint statement with Citicore president Oliver Tan.
Citicore claims to be the first and only AgroSolar-Social company in the Philippines.
