PDEA seizes shabu, gun in Isabela bust
ANGADANAN, Isabela – Sachets of shabu (crystal meth), marijuana leaves, and a gun were seized by police from a suspected drug pusher and his 14-year-old cohort in a buy-bust operation in this town Friday night (June 18), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Saturday.
PDEA Regional Director Joel Plaza said suspect John Philip Baroga, 33 and an egg vendor in Calabayan-Minanga, were arrested in Barangay (village) Baniket at around 9:30 p.m. Baroga was listed as a drug personality in the Inter-Agency Drug Information Database.
His 14-year-old cohort, who was also arrested, was brought to the facility for children in conflict with the law (CICL).
Seized were four sachets of shabu worth P9,800; a zip-locked plastic sachet containing 30 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops worth P3,600; a caliber .38 pistol with three bullets and a holster; a mobile phone, the marked cash used in the bust, and a Toyota Innova van.
Baroga was brought to the Angadanan police station for further probe and custody while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition are being readied for filing.
