DOH reports 110 more COVID-related deaths in PH

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported another 110 COVID-related deaths on Friday, which raises the death count to 23,385.

The DOH said the fatalities account for 1.74 percent of all the 1,346,276 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country since the pandemic began.

Of the overall count, 61,776 remain active cases, of which 1.7 percent are severe and 1.2 percent are critical that are at higher risk for death.

Meanwhile, 95.9 percent of the active cases are either mild or asymptomatic, while the remaining 1.22 percent are moderate cases.

Case bulletins from the DOH showed there were a total of 880 deaths reported from the previous seven days or from June 12 to 18, or an average of 125 deaths logged during the said period.

This was lower than the 971 deaths reported from June 5 to 11, or an average of 138 deaths logged per day.
