Ilocos Norte logs 53 new COVID-19 cases

LAOAG CITY—The Ilocos Norte government recorded 53 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, June 16, health officials said.

The province also logged 60 new recoveries, bringing the total number of active COVID-19 cases to 393.

A 58-year-old woman in this city also succumbed to COVID-19 complications, raising the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 48.

Most of the active COVID-19 cases were found in the towns of Bangui (35), Bacarra (39), San Nicolas (38), Dingras (21), and Laoag City (149).

The province has recorded 3,091 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020, according to the provincial government.
