Free calls for quake victims

FOLLOWING last Monday’s earthquake that hit the Central and Western Visayas, Smart Communications Inc. set up Libreng Tawag centers in the hardest-hit areas in Negros Oriental.

Company personnel were deployed to the Guihulngan National High School in Guihulngan City and at the City Hall to assist in the relief and rescue efforts of the local government.

Smart also set up a Libreng Tawag station at the evacuation center in Tayasan town to assist the affected residents.

The company is working with Guihulngan city government to provide communications support to the city’s search and rescue operations.

Smart’s network facilities in the earthquake-affected areas of Western and Central Visayas have not been damaged and Smart mobile phone and broadband services are operating normally.
