Pagasa: Partly cloudy skies, rain showers expected due to ‘habagat’, ITCZ
MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Metro Manila and six other areas in Luzon on Monday, according to the state weather bureau.
Aside from Metro Manila, the said weather condition will also prevail in the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Palawan and Mindoro provinces, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Dito naman sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, magiging maaliwalas ang panahon subalit asahan ang pagkakaroon ng isolated thunderstorms,” Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said in an early morning weather bulletin.
(The rest of Luzon will have fair weather but expect possible isolated thunderstorms.)
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers are also expected in the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga and Davao regions due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).
