Olongapo City records 2 more COVID-19 deaths
OLONGAPO CITY– The death toll in Olongapo City due to the coronavirus disease rose to 93 on Friday (May 28), after a 77-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man were added to the list, according to Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr.
The city has been logging COVID-19 deaths for the last eight days and most of them were elderly residents, he said.
New infections also surged on Friday after 25 patients aged 10 to 81 contracted COVID-19. The new transmissions increased Olongapo’s active COVID-19 cases to 243.
So far, the city has tallied a total of 1,941 cases since the pandemic began last year. But 1,605 of these patients have since recovered. JOANNA ROSE AGLIBOT
