3 Chinese nabbed for ‘detaining’  2 pals in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga –– Police operatives led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Angeles on Sunday arrested three Chinese who allegedly detained two other Chinese inside a hotel room in Barangay Cutcut here.

Col. Rommel Batangan, city police director, said his men assisted the CIDG-Angeles during the reported rescue operation at Star Hotel located along the Friendship Highway that resulted in the arrest of Tangz Heing, Li Hai Zheng, and Xiao Na.

Batangan said the police managed to rescue Li Deng Hu and Apple Ong from the suspects’ hotel room.

The rescue operation was planned after Sam Carlo Ong, Apple Ong’s brother, sought police help, saying that his sister was being illegally detained inside the Star Hotel.

Batangan said the supposed victims had told the police that three compatriots held them against their will.

The police said it was not known why the victims were detained.

The arrested suspects were brought to the CIDG-Angeles detention center while charges for serious illegal detention were prepared against them at the City prosecutor’s Office here.
