A high school senior in Tennessee, United States was about to sit out his graduation due to a medical emergency when hospital staff surprised him with gifts and his own commencement ceremony.
Nurses from Erlanger Baronness Hospital set up a graduation ceremony for their patient Noah Keith. He was able to don his graduation attire hours before his classmates had their ceremony at Grace Baptist Academy, Fox 5 Atlanta reported yesterday, May 22.
The hospital also showed photos from the graduation on its Facebook page on the same day. In the photos, Keith can be seen receiving his diploma and posing with nurses.
“When Noah, a Grace Baptist Academy senior, had a medical emergency that kept him in the hospital on graduation day, his nurses made sure he still had a proper graduation ceremony!” the page stated.
The ceremony had a procession, cap toss and a party set up by the hospital’s staff. Keith received various gifts, including a basketball and a Yoda action figure. His school’s chairman Tom Crum and his family also gathered for the celebration.
Meanwhile, Keith’s classmates included him in their graduation class picture by bringing a photo of him to the ceremony, as seen on Grace Baptist Academy’s Facebook page, also yesterday.
“This has been a very strong class that has stuck together through the midst of many difficulties,” the school stated.
The school also wished for Keith’s recovery as they thanked the hospital for their graduation ceremony for their student, as stated on its Facebook page on the same day.
“Noah, we will miss you tonight and we are praising God for your recovery and thanking Him for His provision!” the school stated. JB
