Magnitude 5.5 earthquake hits waters off Davao Occidental
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a magnitude 5.5 earthquake off the coast of Davao Occidental on Sunday.
According to the earthquake bulletin released by Phivolcs, the epicenter of the quake was located 235 kilometers (km) southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental at 10:02 a.m.

Phivolcs said Intensity I was felt in Kiamba, Sarangani.

State seismologists said that the quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 113 km.
While no damages are expected, Phivolcs warned that aftershocks may occur.
