Village councilor shot dead in Samar

TACLOBAN CITY — A village councilor in Calbayog City, Samar was shot dead by still unidentified assailants on Friday morning.

Jimmy Botron was on his way home to Barangay Carayman on board his motorcycle at around 6 a.m. when two men, on board another motorcycle, shot him several times.

He was rushed to the hospital but eventually died.

The Calbayog City police are conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the killing.
