Four ‘Gubat sa Ciudad’ guests test positive for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines— Four guests of the Gubat sa Ciudad resort in Caloocan City have tested positive for COVID-19, the local government revealed Monday.
The Caloocan COVID-19 Command Center head Bok Labastilla said the four were found positive via the antigen tests and that only one of them is asymptomatic.
“Out of the four positives, one has been transferred to the quarantine facility,” Labastilla said in a statement. “The three are in the process of transfer.”
Caloocan City said 123 of the 287 identified guests of the resort were already contacted, their personal information verified.
Of the 123, 42 had undergone antigen tests and four of them were found COVID-positive. The local government said the remaining 80 will be swabbed “within today and tomorrow.”
Information of the other 164 resort guests who supposedly refused to answer calls from authorities will be endorsed to police stations in their respective localities, the Caloocan City government warned.
“The names and addresses of the remaining 164 unverified persons who refused to answer our calls shall be endorsed to Caloocan Police Station Contact Tracers to conduct house visits and for ground contact tracing process,” the local government said.
Some 300 people trooped to Gubat sa Ciudad resort on Mother’s Day (May 9) in violation of prevailing quarantine protocols. The resort has been closed since and its owners charged.
