3 Subic school workers among 11 new Olongapo COVID-19 patients

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Three workers of a training school inside the Subic Bay Freeport have gotten sick with COVID-19, making them among new patients in Olongapo City on Tuesday (May 11).

In an advisory, Olongapo Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said two of the workers are maintenance crewmen in the school.

Eight other new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Olongapo on the same day.

Some are employees of private companies inside the free port while the others were members of the same households.

As of Tuesday, the city has 186 active COVID-19 cases out of 1,630 infections recorded since 2020.

At least 1,371 of these patients had already recovered from the disease, which still has no known cure.

The city did not record any COVID-19 deaths in the last four days. Its death toll remains at 73.
